We hope that this website has convinced you that the Wharfe Valley Branch of Cats Protection is doing sterling work for the welfare of cats, and could do much more if only more funds were available. There is one very simple way you could help us - include the Branch in your will.
If you are grateful for the affection and companionship you have received from a cat, either now or at any time in your life, a legacy, however modest, will ensure that we are able to provide for other cats and to help other cat owners.
Ask your solicitor to include a bequest to Cats Protection Wharfe Valley Branch the next time you draw up a new will or add a codicil.
A leaflet "Where there's a Will there's a way to help cats" is available from CP and provides more information, including sample clauses. Call us on 0845 1947 292 Ext 4 if you would like a copy.
For a simple fixed sum legacy, the appropriate wording to use is:
"I give to Cats Protection at National Cat Centre, Chelwood Gate, Haywards Heath, Sussex RH17 7TT the sum of £.... to be applied for [its general purposes]/[the benefit of the Wharfe Valley Branch] and I declare that the receipt of the Chief Executive or other proper officer shall be sufficient discharge for the same." (Delete one or other of the phrases in square brackets.)
If you own cats yourself, you may like to ask for the leaflet "What will become of my cat?" too. Be sure to make provision for your cats should you no longer be able to care for them - by leaving money or by making practical arrangements with a relative, friend or neighbour.
Emergency cards with details of your cat(s) and whom to contact are available from us to place in your hall or other prominent position.
Please consider specifying the Wharfe Valley Branch in your will, rather than Cats Protection |
