10 good reasons to own a black cat
Some more serious than others.
|
- If you favour a "goth" look, a black cat's hair won't show on your black clothes and furnishings. On the other hand.
- If your carpets and furniture are lighter in colour, you will be able to spot your cat easily when it is curled up somewhere it shouldn't be.
- At Hallowe'en, you can dress up as a witch and you will have a ready made feline familiar.
- Unlike white cats, black ones are unlikely to be deaf but will fit into a minimalist, monochrome home just as well.
- Black cats make especially good hunters as they are not easily spotted. Perfect if you live somewhere where there is plenty of 'visitors' to be kept under control - until it snows.
- A black cat crossing your path is lucky. You will have luck every day if you own one.
- It won't show the dirt.
- Black cats are far less likely than lighter coloured ones to suffer from sunburnt ears and noses, damage which sometimes leads to cancer.
- A black cat's coat is perfect for showing off brightly coloured or bejewelled safety collars - very chic.
- Your children can pretend that mild-mannered Puss is actually a small panther.
