  Can you help?

If you live in the Wharfe Valley area and could spare a little time, you could help us with our activities. The work is varied, from fundraising and fostering cats to visiting potential new homes and taking cats to the vet.

Your reward will be the satisfaction gained from helping an animal in need and you will have done your bit to assist the poor, sick and unwanted cats in your area. You will also meet interesting, committed people and will feel a sense of achievement when you see the successful outcome of one of the tragic cases that come our way.

We are particularly keen to find new fosterers who could look after one or more rescued cats in special pens in the garden (all expenses paid). We sometimes need to put cats on a waiting list when all the cat pens are full. With your help, this shouldn't happen so often.

Our branch is self funding and we are responsible for raising the funds necessary to carry out our invaluable work. How many cats are helped depends on how much money we raise through bazaars and other activities.

If you feel you could take up this rewarding challenge and have a real interest in cat welfare, please ring the Wharfe Valley co-ordinator on 0845 1947 292 Ext 4 or contact us.

Or perhaps you have an attic or garage full of things waiting to go to the next sale? Have a look at saleable items for a list of goods we can use to generate funds.Ring 0845 1947 292 Ext 5

Our biggest challenge apart from cat rescue itsef is finding homes for cats.We always need help with HOME CHECKING so if you drive and have some spare time ring us on 0845 1947 292 Ext 4

If you are not local, you could still support us by sending a donation or sponsoring a cat in our care.

Finally, even if you are not able to offer help at this time, you could leave CP a bequest in your will. There has been much political comment about Inheritance tax and whether the ceiling should be raised as house prices soar. One way to avoid such tax is to leave money in your will to registered charities and bring down your 'inheritance' element.Take legal advice and financial advice to be sure of expressing your will
